KickC Compiler for the OSI C1P (6502) A beginner-friendly C development environment for the OSI C1P and compatible 6502-based systems. This project adapts the excellent KickC optimizing C compiler to make C programming on the OSI platform easier and more accessible. The focus is on providing a ready-to-use development environment that works immediately without requiring complex configuration. Project Status: This project is not planned for active maintenance, but contributions and improvements are welcome. Features
Compared to many other 6502 C compilers, KickC generates compact and efficient assembly code while remaining easy to use. Based On This project is based on the KickC optimizing C
compiler for the 6502 processor family. Project Layout The project includes modifications to existing files:
New OSI-specific files include:
Installation Required Folder Location D:\OSI_kickc\ This location is currently required by the supplied tools. Starting the IDE Run: This launches the JFE graphical editor and compiler interface. Opening a Project Inside the IDE: Open the supplied workspace examples to begin working. Using the IDE The toolbar provides several useful commands. Compile W_Osi Convert
files. ASM Included Examples The repository contains four example programs that
demonstrate how to write software for the OSI C1P using this compiler. OS/65D The compiler should also work with OS/65D after
selecting the appropriate project settings. Goals The primary goal of this project is to make programming the OSI C1P in C as easy as possible. The development environment is intended to work "out of
the box" so that beginners can begin writing programs immediately instead
of spending time configuring tools.
Contributing Contributions are welcome.
